Babcock State Park Engagement/ Amanda and Matt/ WV Wedding Photographer

When I first met Amanda, she told me that her and Matt were a little awkward, especially infront of the camera. She said that they have even made it a point to embrace their awkwardnes with an awkward prom pose tradition! When they go adventuring to new places they make it a point to capture a classic prom pose photo at each destination. I knew imidatley they were the perfect couple with a great sense of humor!  I had so much fun doing their engagement photos! I am so glad they are an adventurous couple! It was freezing and I had them trekking over treacherous ice and it did not even faze them.  They were incredible troopers!  They are the kind of couple a photographer dreams of getting to shoot. They were not akward, they were perfect naturally! Beautiful together and laid back. Making each other laugh the whole time, you could feel the love just by the way they looked at each other! I love getting to shoot a couple who are constantly making each other smile!  You can tell their love is real and you can see the glow when they look at each other!  I have to point out how beast mode they are, not every couple can just lift their partner in the air nonchalantly in the moment.  I cannot wait to have the incredible honor of photographing  their wedding day!!! Here are just a few shots from this snowy adventure!

Hawk’s Nest Engagement/ Hannah & Gabe / Tabitha Stover Photography

Hannah and Gabe are such a sweet couple full of so much love!  I was so excited when they told me they wanted to do their engagement session at Hawk’s Nest because it is such a beautiful place! I fell in love with their story from the start! I asked them how they met and Gabe said Hannah’s grandpa arranged the meeting which was unusual in itself for her grandpa,  and when it was time to show Hannah chickened out and didn’t show up! She eventually did meet him and they hit it off! Gabe did the sweetest surprise proposal at this exact spot. His family accompanied them for what seemed like a regular day off site seeing. They asked Hannah to check out a Hawk across the Gorge and when she looked through the viewfinder he dropped to one knee!  It poured the rain before and after the shoot, but Hannah and Gabe stuck it out and I’m so glad they put up with the weather because they were a joy to shoot!

New River Gorge Wedding/ Daniel Vineyards, WV/ Karrah & Brian/ Tabitha Stover Photography

“No Church, No aisles, no chairs…, just two crazy people on the rim of the Gorge” their wedding ceremony was simple and beautiful! Honoring their love infront of close family and friends at the edge of the gorge.
The New River Gorge is full of so many breath taking beautiful places making it the perfect setting for this outdoorsy adventuresome  couple’s wedding! Karrah and Brian’s love story started in the Gorge! Out of all the beautiful places to meet and fall for each other as fate would have it they first met in Charlie’s pub. Its well known for its romantic atmoshere, ha. Karrah had finished up a day of zipplinging and Brian had finished up a day on kayaking and both were gathering with friends at Charlies. Wrong numbers were exchanged, and Brian still says it was the best mistake he has ever made because it led him to her. They really fell for each other with their shared love of the outdoors and adventure!  I have known Karrah and Brain for a while and they are two of the sweetest people I know. When you see them together you know they were made for each other.  The ceremony took place in the New River Gorge Preserve on the rim of the New River where the couple was surrounded by close family and friends followed by a reception at Daniel vineyards where the couple was greeted by more loved ones who celebrated their love into the  evening! The day was perfect even with a few bumps like no power at the reception venue. Their  love shined on and the candles just added to the romantic atmosphere in a beautiful setting with a gorgeous couple! Thank you for letting me capture your big day along with Kaylyn Cole! Wishing you  all a life full of happiness together, I can’t wait to see what adventures await for you to in the future!

What Is Glamping?

Glamping Tabitha Stover Photography

I have been a fan of camping and backpacking for a long time, but I was just recently introduced to the term Glamping! My bffab ( best friend forever and beyond) just bought a tent and I was so pumped to go camping together! Then she informed me that she would not be going camping, but she would be Glamping instead.   What? I actually had to Google it. What is Glamping, you ask? Its glamorous camping! Yap, you heard me right. Haaaaa!  Because camping is oh so glamorous, sleeping on the ground, bugs and all.  I was a bit skeptical at first, not the most practical   past time. But, the more I researched, and by research I mean the more I looked on pinterest, the more I was intrigued. Glamping combines your traditional camping set up with  a luxurious twist and some of the convinces of home. I decided to give Glamping a go and surprise my husband with a little Glamping under the stars set up!

Along with camping I also love junking and repurposing old items, so Glamping gives me another use for some of my favorite finds! I like to decorate with rustic elements and add a little feminine flare to the items to create a romantic cozy space! You can go as simple or as fancy as you like with Glamping. I took four twigs and crisscrossed them to create a tepee and reinforced the structure with some zip ties and twine. I covered the structure by making a patchwork quilt out  of old blankets, sheets, and a lace table cloth. You can even Glamp up an old yard sale tent! A few elements are key to Glamping it up a notch !  One of the universal elements of Glamping is having a comfy spot to sleep. It’s amazing how a sheet and a comforter can transform an air mattress! This beats being confined in a sleeping bag any day! Throw on a couple pillows and you have a luxurious nest!

Side tables can also up your glamping game.  I used an old crate I found at a flea market for 3 bucks and an old chest I found at goodwill.

My favorite Glamping accessory was the chandelier! I took an old lantern and  I added some strands of glass beads to Glamp it up!You can add battery operated led lights from Hobby Lobby to make it functional.

I also added a rug to make the spot even more cozy and comfortable! I would love to see pictures on how you put your own flare on glamping, so post away! I think this would be an awesome set up for an engagement photo session so I can’t wait to use it! The whole family enjoyed!
